On October 2 of last year, Zander Munk finished his final Fundamentals session with me.
I am like a month late on this because not since Rachael Kroll have we had someone fly under the radar like Zander. At the time Zander joined I wasn't sure he was going to make it; his attendance was very inconsistent and I had a difficult time getting things to stick with him on the rare occasions he was here. The trend continued through the spring lockdown workouts and if Owen wasn't his brother, Zander would be Erik Hopkins or someone else we've had that has faded away in the sunset.
But Lord have mercy something clicked with Zander during the Summer! Since mile run/100 sit-up workout he's been one of my favorite people to coach in the gym and has seen his consistency in workouts increase. He even worked his way around a broken collar bone after a biking accident in August. And this fall he's done a good job of managing CrossFit and cross country. Here's his max effort back squat from earlier this week.
I am officially a Zander Munk fan and am really grateful that he's put up with my crap over the last year. Thank you for being part of our team!
