Athlete of the Fall

If you don't know by now, Murley's 10 am session from the summer has been wrecking havoc since June 11. 100 percent perfect technique has been preached since that first day, and now it is really paying off. Jason, Kyle, and Connor all had a very solid fall CrossFit season. And while I can say I'm impressed with ALL of our 10 am kids from this summer, Katie Bromm gets the award for Athlete of the Fall. And it comes down to one reason:

I have never seen anyone improve as rapidly as Katie during such a short amount of time. Period.

Katie started the fall using a 15 pound bar for all weightlifting movements (except for deadlifts, which she was using kettlebells). Pull-ups were always banded, kettlebell swings were never more than 8 kg, and squatting was to a partial range of motion.

Now, pull-ups without a band are a thing of the past, kettlebell swings are done with 20kg, and her 2 rep max split jerk is 85 lbs. In addition, form on Olympic lifts, running, and bodyweight mevements have improved as well.

Katie is also the first in-season athlete to have received the season athlete award. This sophomore has balanced the demands of keeping a 4.4 GPA with getting the call up to Varsity and keping her Champions Club attendance up.

Great work Katie, but don't even think about letting up. We have plenty of other kids working just as hard.

Its awesome to see so many people inquiring about the hard routine this week. Its means exactly what it says hard but not impossible to learn what works and what doesnt . I have read it is a balance between Carbs, Proteins and Fats that are all on the favorable chart from the Zone Diet. If things were always easy in life it would get very boring so jazz your meals up with spices and variety. Cut portions down to use other items adding a variety of tastes on your plate ! If you must Chris has allowed us to use 1 unfavorable a day into a snack or meal, I will be available tommarrow or Chris, Mrs Carey will be back on Friday so as questions arise let us know so we can get you the answers to keep you on track with the program.
