Old Faithful

When Brian and I first started CrossFit in late 2005, we had two pieces of equipment that he purchased besides what was already in the weight room. A set of Elite Training rings with red straps and a 20 pound Dynamax medicine ball. One thing both of us noticed over the years was the quality of the equipment brands CrossFit endorses. And these two were not an exception.
"Old Faithful", as we have named the med ball, has served us very well for over seven years of people throwing it up against a brick wall, sitting on it, carrying it, and getting it knocked out of their hands when Dan decided to cheat in the Shark Week Workout of 2010. Unfortunately, much like Brian's Z Ball abilities, the years have taken a toll on this fan favorite - as many of you have noticed.
This afternoon hopefully, "Old Faithful" will be undergoing reconstructive surgery on his left side seam. The operation will be performed by the in-house nurse, Margaret Sinagoga. The procedure is expected to take anywhere from 2-5 minutes with the recovery period being the same. I will keep you posted on how it goes.
God speed old friend!

The surgery appears to be a success. Old Faithful feels good as new and is ready whenever it is called upon. Who knows, it might be tomorrow...

I have to say that over the years I have dealt with more butts than a conjuction convention. I have been cleaned more than an OCD's doorknob and I have been dropped more than chris's cell phone. In all that time, my favorite memory was not getting sharked in the strong hands of Dan and Brian.
