We never thought we would see the day, but I am here to announce that handsome gentleman Jacob "Jaboo" Augustine won his first World Series in Mario Super Sluggers for the Nintendo Wii. For those unaware, seasonal leagues are organized with Jacob, Jesse, Jay, and myself drafting the players onto our respective teams while each league is held together by a theme. Prior to this season, the championship count went as follows:
Chris: 2
Jesse: 2
Jay: 2
Jacob: 0
While the numbers reflect a sheer dominance from me, Jesse, and Jay, it should be noted that Jacob tends post very impressive regular season accomplishments. However, things seem to unravel around playoff time for old Pops - as documented in the most recent Mitchell Guist Memorial League.
This spring's theme was Michigan Basketball with each person creating a Mii character based off their favorite Wolverine baller. My team with Caris LaVert finished last in the regular season, Jacob's with Mitch McGary finished 3rd, Jay and Nik Stauskas finished in 2nd, and Jesse, with the help of Spike Albrecht finished in first. The playoffs, however, would prove to be upsetting for the top two seeds - as both Jesse and Jay fell to me and Jacob.
So there it was, "Mitchapalooza" vs. "Caris LaSquirt" in the World Series. Jacob went up 2 games to nothing in the best of 5 series with dominant pitching from Daisy and a pair of long dongs from Kritter and King K Rool. However, Petey Pirahna proved to be an unstoppable force as he had during the season, and brought Caris LaSquirt back to tie the series with long dongs of his own.
Game 5 looked to be in favor of Caris LaSquirt, as we jumped out to a 2-0 lead with ace pitcher King Boo on the mound. However, an unspeakable 8-run 3rd inning from Mitchapalooza (capped by a long dong from Mitch himself) proved to be too much to overcome. And Jacob won his first world series of his Mario Baseball career.
Since then, we have had our draft for our new season, The Pokemon League. Hopefully, Jacob's championship will prove to be a flash-in-the-pan.
Well done Jacob.

bout time i get some recognition.
Chris, please just get a Facebook already so we don't have to all be bored with your outside life, or lack thereof. Not to take anything away from Jacob! Good job! We all love it anytime Chris loses.
Then maybe everyone can either 1) submit some of their own content, 2) read back in the archives, or 3) realize that this is Jacob's greatest athletic feat and should be noted in the Accomplishments section
Yeah you wish this was my greatest athletic feat. Here's my latest workout vid (don't mind the tan i was outside all day)
