Beast Mode: Erica and Cecilia

The first Hero workout ever created in CrossFit was JT back in 2005. At the time it was made the volume of handstand push-ups and dips were such that finishing the entire workout - regardless of time - was in doubt for just about everyone who went on the site. 16 years later, the CrossFit Games have really advanced the general fitness public's capacity in gymnastics and completing JT is much more common. But just because it's more common doesn't mean it is any less impressive.

Yesterday Erica finished JT as rx'd during the 4:30 session. For the most part the form stayed consistent as well, despite the brutal upper body decay that comes with this workout.

As with JT, Fran is such a common workout now that is easy to get caught in the fitness professionals' times and miss just how elegant this couplet can be at dishing out misery. It was created as a blend of two distant fitness domains: gymnastics and weightlifting. Anything under 5 demonstrates a great work capacity and skill.

This morning Cecilia did Fran as rx'd in 3:28, which was a personal record by almost 30 seconds and a female gym record by even more than that!

Great work girls!
