Hi! This is my first-ever Champions Club entry! I’m a little nervous but here we go! I’m Mya (for the ones who may not know me) I am a part of the “Lamphere Crew” here at the Champions Club. Some may say “I’ve never seen a hard worker from Lamphere” When I say some I really mean Chris. I beg to differ. Lamphere has created some pretty hard workers I like to think, but the key word is some. Anyway, I’m not here to yap about the people Lamphere has created, I’ll be here all day. I’m here because the past two days we've done a super hard workout. It's called “Karen” and consists of 150 wall balls. “That's it” as Emma Lang said to me when she asked what the workout was yesterday before we began today . Yup, that’s it, one hundred and fifty terrible wall balls. So sorry for all the wallball fans here at the Champions Club. Also if you come across a burnt medicine ball, I would talk to Mr. Van.
But this workout was tough. Yesterday we did “Karen" and at the 5:30 session, we did not have partners to count and tell us to throw that stupid medicine ball at the wall one more time. Yesterday there were a lot of “DNFs”. Today not so much. A Lot more of us were able to finish the 150. The only difference today from yesterday was that Chris assigned us partners. Chris gave the partners the freedom to coach however they felt the need to. At 5:30 today, I stayed after and watched. Mrs. Carey and Ricky were paired up. Mrs. Carey went first, yesterday she “DNF” -ed but today she was able to finish. She was able to finish not only because she was strong enough to but because Ricky tricked her with how many more reps she had to go, He told Mrs. Carey that she had more than she actually did, which resulted in Mrs. Carey finishing all 150. “That’s some good ass coaching Ricky” as Chris Sinagoga would say. No for real, that's such an awesome and unique way to push someone. Mrs. Carey finished that workout today and not yesterday because of the impact Ricky made on her during the workout. He gave her that extra little bit she needed to finish.
Chris told me during our hour-long talk during the 5:30 session that the reason all you amazing people are here at the Champions Club is because of the different types of impacts you have on everyone here. All of you bring something to someone here. Almost everyone at the Champions Club can do 150 wall balls physically but not everyone can mentally, but that’s okay because that's what everyone else is here for! The reason Mrs. Carey was able to finish today was because Ricky helped her mentally and the reason I was able to do 156 wall balls today instead of 150 like I did yesterday was because of the words from Mrs. Van during the 4:30 session. Everyone at the Champions Club makes a different type of impact on someone here. This is definitely my favorite workout so far, I know crazy who enjoys doing 150 wall balls? For real it taught me alot about myself and how much I depend on the other people around me while I workout along with how mentality is much more important than physicality. I believe that your mentality is everything and it's what sets you apart from others. I'm so happy to be a part of this place! Despite the fact that I had to do 150 wall balls 2 days in a row… Anyways good job to everyone who did this workout and shout out to everyone and the impact they have on each other at the Champions Club!
