Skate Night for Kadence on Friday

So a few years ago Cory persuaded me to put on a pair of ice skates and go around the hockey rink a few times. It remained the most bizarre thing I had experienced in my life until that title was taken a few years later after watching Josh and Adam play one-on-one. There I was, good basketball player, quarterback, all-around track athlete, and experienced CrossFit, clinging on for dear life with both hands on the boards, picking up one foot-with-skate-attached and putting it cautiously down mere inches in front of the other. I have never taken friction, ground reaction forces, and hockey people for granted again. I was about as bad at skating as bad can be.

This Friday you all have an opportunity to see what I presume to be not-bad skating. Every year for almost two decades there's a big ceremony to light a bunch of Christmas trees in downtown Detroit. As luck would have it, our very own Kadence Browder will be performing at the event in the form of coordinated, athletic, graceful, opposite-of-what-Chris-would-do figure skating at the rink on site. It lasts from 6:30-8:30, with Kadence's performance time still TBD.

I am definitely not opposed to heading down that way after the sessions, so check with Mrs.Lanette this week and we'll try to get a little crowd to cheer on Kadence.
