The final three New Kids on the Block we picked up during lockdown are Nick Krstich, Jaylee Hall, and Mrs. Michelle.
Nick is a sophomore baseball/football player at Lamphere and was originally planning on coming in with his brother Koltin back in January, but wanted to wait a little longer to recover from an elbow injury he got from throwing. Since baseball season was cancelled he jumped in a few of the sessions in late-March. As he worked harder and harder, he got the invite more often and ended up hitting the workouts pretty regularly by the end of May. I think Nick will be mostly at the 4:30 session.
Next up is Jaylee, who is cousins with Josh Vandoorn and is finishing up her 8th grade year and headed to Lamphere this fall. Jaylee plays volleyball, basketball and softball and has the height and work ethic to be good at all three sports. Usually tall kids that young are very uncoordinated, but Jaylee managed to pick up on all the movements very quickly. What's even better is she is now following a good, balanced nutrition plan - which has also led her mom and dad to follow suit. This one has some mad upside, for sure and it looks like we'll get good glimpses of that at the 11 am session this Summer.
Finally we have Mrs. Michelle, who is Mr. Malak's ladyfriend. She is another one who has been dialed in with her nutrition since we started and has also made major strides in her conditioning. (Both her and Jaylee did their first sessions on May 20.) Mrs. Michelle can get discouraged with herself sometimes but once she gets out of her own head she'll find herself lifting heavy weight, doing handstands, running and everything in between. Even forward rolls! Look for her at the 6:30 pm session this Summer.
