CrossFit Feature: Modern Science, Part 1

Back in 2001 CrossFit set a definition to fitness that was measurable, observable, and repeatable. "Work capacity across broad time and modal domains" meant nothing to the average meber in the box but it had a multi-billion dollar effect on the exercise industry and spearheaded the way for a health revolution. Now CrossFit is attempting to invade the science landscape with the same thinking.

If you ask Google to define science, it comes back with this. What is this, exactly? No idea, but Nick Bewick and Mama V probably know. To Coach Glassman and the rest of the CrossFit Health, science is something that should be easily understood by the general public. Like power cleans and overhead squats. So CrossFit has defined science as "the objective branch of knowledge." There will be an ongoing series on the main site about this topic; I will probably not be posting all of them on here, but I think it's worth keeping up because I get the feeling they're on to another revolution.
