On September 14, I posted an open discussion on how we include Play Time in our training every now and then.
To Play or Not to Play: An Open Discussion
I went back at it today to reread the post and check out the comments. Aside from the next day's post on half-assing some workouts, this provided some of the best discussion I have seen on the site. Very legit opinions from both sides.
...........
As the spring is coming around, things like football, frisbee, the hill, and park workouts always cross my mind. We don't live in California, after all, and I almost feel an obligation to take advantage of nice weather. Lately, I've been trying to plan out something like soccer or handball (which, I believe, Mr. Carey is an expert at). And as the Summer rolls around, I'll definitely be talking to the Kavanaghs about their pool.
When I go back and read the post and the comments, I notice there a few things I have a slightly different opinion on now than I did five months ago. It's pretty natural for me to change my mind like that. For instance, I would still probably make the Play Time a surprise, but I would maybe shoot a text to a few of the college kids who I think would be there (like Jacqueline) to let her know and provide an alternate workout at the park or something.
What about you? Has your opinion on Play Time changed since September? If you didn't get a chance to chime in then, what are your thoughts now?
