Tribe Wars - Conquered

The CrossFit BMW team, including Champions Club vets Emma and Ryan, finished in 2nd place today at the Tribe Wars held at New Species CrossFit. They were scheduled to have a showdown at the end with Plymouth CrossFit to decide the winner, but I decided to opt them out of the workout, based on the excess volume of the previous four workouts. Check back soon for pictures, videos, and workout results.
Here's a sneak peek.
BMW - the only team out of sixteen to actually finish the first and second WOD. How bout that!!

Here's the photo gallery. Videos later tonight.

Videos are in.
Workout number 1 was a monster. 200 kettlebell swings. 415m run. 200 one-legged squats. 200 partner-assisted handstand pushups. 415m run. 200 pull-ups. There was a 30 minute time cap, and our team was the only one in either heat to finish the entire workout.
In this WOD, Ryan and Emma keep good form and integrity on their kettlebell swings while jumping out to a big lead. Ryan is using a 2 pood (36 kg/72 lbs) and Emma is using a 1.5 pood (24 kg/53 lbs).
The second set of exercises in WOD 1 was 200 pull-ups as a team. Ryan does his best to keep a hollow butterfly kip, and Emma attempts her hollow kip as well. Eric and Hill also rep out their pull-ups with ease.
This was amazing to watch. The workout was 21-15-9 reps of Sumo deadlift high pull (135 lbs for guys/95 for girls) and Burpees. Each member had to do all reps of each exercise, and there was a 20 minute time cap. The team of Ryan, Emma, Eric, and Hillary were the only group to finish the entire workout, but it was a close call. It went right down to the wire, and they finished in 19:45.
WOD 3 Ryan's max snatch against the clock
This workout had all four team members find their 1 rep max snatch in 12 minutes. After Eric, Emma, and Hillary finished, Ryan was the only one left. He got 165 with a little struggle, so I instructed him to add 2.5's on each side. Ryan opted to completely brush me off, and added 5 lbs on each side. Luckily, I forgot the camera was rolling, and recorded all of it. With 20 seconds left on the clock, Ryan stepped up to the bar, and nailed the lift at 175 lbs - which is also good for a pr, and kept the team in first place after 3 events.
WOD 4 Emma & Ryan - Rope climb/ring dip
WOD #4 was another monster. The stations were: rope climb, ring dip, box jump, and ball slams. One minute at each station, max reps. Oh, and three rounds. They finished 2nd in this event (I believe) which put them into 2nd overall.
The final WOD between Plymouth CrossFit and Champions Club/CrossFit BMW was a 4 round couplet of rowing and heavy thrusters. After much deliberation, I decided the volume had been enough as it was, and scratched the team out of the workout (plus, both Emma and Ryan have multiple games and meets coming up very soon.) They proved everything we were hoping and then some. Once again, the Champions Club teens were astounding the spectators with an incredible combination of form and work capacity. You guys continue to impress me, and it's still hard to believe you're only 16 and 17 years old respectively. As a reward, I will grant you one rest day - hassle free. Also, big ups to Jarrod, Eric, and Hillary for letting them join the squad. And shouts to John D, Mama V and Mr. W, Eva, and all the folks from BMW who came to support. There are a lot of good people out at your spot Jarrod. Thanks for everything.

New T-Shirt slogan: WE REPRESENT! While Others rep resent us.
DAAANG! My cousin is a BEAST.
Keep training with us and you'll get there too. You got a 2 year head start on her if you think about it
Yeah... I am so beyond jealous. I could never even attempt to do that :P (well I'd try, but you would have to scrape me off the box floor at the end of the day.)
We actually had to scrape Emma and Ryan off the floor after the fourth workout to grab some Powerade from Meijers. It was actually kind of amusing.
