The first Banet to win the coveted Athlete of the Week this summer is Erika.
First of all, I think everyone knows that we hold the Banets to a higher standard because, well, they are the Banets. For them to win an athlete of the week award, they really have to impress us. Jennifer so far has had some of the most consistently flawless form this summer (minus some dips on last week's chipper). Elizabeth can do dumbbell squat snatches using 25 pounds and has had the fastest finishes on a lot of workouts this summer. Jacqueline is the strongest and, except for running, doesn't seem to have a real weakness. But Erika has been KILLING it this week. We found out that 400 m runs are Erika's forte. Her two most impressive results this week:
on Tuesday's workout her finishing time was 9:18 with 12k kettlebells (that's over 25 pounds on each side!).
and on Friday's workout she posted a time of 16:13, the second fastest time of the day (second only to Ryan Anderson). She also did 6 strict pull-ups per round without a band. Her last round was almost a minute faster than the rest of her 1:30 pm comrades.
While her other sisters were playing softball or still in school this spring, Erika came back from playing basketball and put in a lot of hard work. This is shaping up to be a very successful summer for all of the Banets, but this week she stood out because of her speed and for just plain being a beast.
