I think finding rhythm in any repeated movement is a good way to develop consistency - meaning doing the same thing every time. Rhythm is something you ultimately have to feel but there are a few things that can help you realize if what you're feeling is good or not. The one I like to use the most is sound.
Listen to Sydney Larson's set of box jumps from the end of the workout yesterday.
It started off as 1... 2,3 / 1... 2,3
Then she rushed a little bit and went 1,2,3 / 1,2,3
That lasted for about 4 reps then as she fatigued it turned into 1, 2, 3... / 1, 2, 3...
This can be some with the sound of the bar on the ground, the sound of your breathing, or a pretend sound when your arms extend on a push-up. Whatever it is, all movements you do in CrossFit (or in sport) should have a consistent rhythm to it. If they don't you are wasting energy.

Anybody else check their breathing patterns when running? I've found increased efficiency from keeping a consistent rhythm vs. breathing whenever I feel like it.
I’ve done box jumps before, but until I applied your coaching on maintaining a rhythm, I would gas out quickly. Rhythm worked so well yesterday! It gave me something else to focus on besides my burning legs and lungs 😂
Thanks for the great Coaching, Chris! You’ve made such a difference in the way I approach and think about movement. Super grateful to you.
Mel, I started doing that in track - inhale for 2 and exhale for 2 - during the mile and still do it now. I',m not sure if that's a good way to do it or not, so I don't really coach it.
David, you jumps were looking good yesterday. In fairness, this might have been the first time I went over it with the group... I noticed it as Anthony was doing them at the 3:30 session and it kinda clicked.
