Athlete of the Week: Conamora

For the second Summer in a row Conamora gets herself a coveted Athlete of the Week nod.
There were two highlight-reel moments for Conamora this week: the first one is obvious and has already been accounted for here. But yesterday's one didn't have the crowd-silencing 265 number behind it, but rather showed a determination that we need to see more of from her: after about 45 minutes worth of frustrating attempts in front of the entire group, Conamora finally got an unassisted candlestick roll.
On a selfish note, this actually gives me a chance to briefly rant about the momentum list. Conamora had, if I recall correctly, three 6-day soccer tournaments from late-June through late-July, plus another soccer league on the side. That is the definition of using your fitness; she built herself a brand new body and engine and brain during 2020... go and use that stuff! From what I was hearing, she was using it very well too. On the momentum list she had a Down Arrow because... duh! All her fitness was spent and left on various soccer fields across SEC territory. When she came in the day after Nationals you could tell she was drained. Again, it sounds like it was fitness well-spent.
The cool thing about having the fitness foundation she - and all of you - have is it doesn't take much to get the momentum going in the right direction again. Whenever the time is right, all it takes is 3 workouts or so and you'll be right back in the feel of it (maybe 6 if you're one of the parents). Needless to say, Conamora had that kind of week. Great job kiddo!
