Yup its that time of the year…. The senior tribute. The champions club seniors are being released into the adult world…. Yeah I know scary…. Im just kidding (kinda) No for real this group of athletes that happened to be seniors are pretty amazing! Congrats Jaylee, Chase, Koltin, Gavin, Dylan, Sarah and Pitt!
Summer 2020
Im going to start off with Jaylee Hall. Don’t worry Jay, I won’t embarrass you too much, half the gym knows the fence hopping story anyway, so what else more is there to tell… Jaylee has been one of my good friends for awhile now and she’s even the one who brought me into the gym! and not going to lie she is definitely my favorite senior I’m going to be writing about. Jaylee’s favorite days at the gym are mobility, but she is a literal stud on the volleyball court. she’s the MVP on the Lamphere varsity volleyball team the past two years and she remains the MVP in the games of pepper we play in the back on the turf. I’ve always looked up to Jaylee, from our years of playing rec soccer together (can you imagine jaylee playing soccer) and to now. I just recently worked out with Jaylee at the 10 am session and she will remain one of my favorite workout partners forever, even though I had to force to do 5 rounds instead of 4… I cannot wait to see what you accomplish in the future Jaylee! Western Michigan’s got a good one.
February 2020
I guess I will keep going with Lamphere kids! You can find Koltin Krstich throwing a lacrosse ball at the wall like a baseball after any workout or playing basketball with Mr. Krstich. One of the first times I worked out with Koltin was during the Thanksgiving workout this past year and you could tell he really pushes himself to get better. Koltin is definitely one of the hard workers from Lamphere so its good to have some friendly competition! He’s going to Macomb community college to play baseball in the fall!
Summer 2021
Next is Gavin Bush! And let me tell you this kid can run. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him jog a warm up 400m. Every time he starts a run he leaves the gym garage door looking to beat his time from the last . One time Gavin and I got paired up to practice assisted strict pull ups and I don’t have pull ups like that so after a few my arms get tired and I will sometimes get discouraged but Gavin never let me stop and kept encouraging me to keep going. I ended up doing so many more pull ups than I thought I could that day. Gavin is definitely a team player, he’s always encouraging everyone else in the gym. Gavin is going to run track for Hope college in the fall and I am certain he is going to succeed there!
Summer 2019
Chase Kuiper is definitely one of the most hardest working athletes in the gym. I don’t really know him that well but every time I see him shoot a basketball he makes it. Chase is one of those athletes that doesn’t just check the box when he works out and when he does anything in the gym you can tell he wants to get better at it . Chase is going to play basketball for the University of Detroit Mercy next year!
Dylan in the Babies(!) session - April 2018
I don’t really know much about Dylan Colussi he doesn’t come in much anymore but when he did him and Coach Casey always knew how to make everyone laugh! He played basketball for Troy High school and Dylan is going to Oakland University in the fall!
December 2020
Sarah Curtis was one of the people in the gym Jaylee told me about before I started coming in. She said she was like really good at volleyball. Once I started coming in I immediately knew who she was because she just looks like a good volleyball player. Sarah is going to play volleyball at Aquinas College in the fall!
Summer 2022
I’ve worked out with Pitt (Caleb Pittenturf) last summer during the 11am session and a few times this summer at the 10am. As I don’t really know him that well I can just tell he’s a hard worker! Almost anytime I see him he is either dribbling, shooting, or beating up on the babies with a basketball! Pitt mentioned a few weeks ago he’s going to Ceaderville university in the fall to play basketball for their jv team. He was saying he’s going to start off on their jv team and work super hard to get pulled up to varsity! Keep up the great work Pitt!
