My first editorial of the year comes out tomorrow (Thursday) at 9 am. College Athlete Admission Standards. It's pretty long, but obviously has a lot of thought put into it. Basically I want to be able to use it, and the charts in specific, as references for parents and kids at the gym.
"Basketball should not have timeouts"
- Brian from MGoBlog
This was said in wake of last night's Michigan game, in which an instant replay took over 5 minutes to overturn the play above. On one hand, you have officials and higher-ups who genuinely want to get things as correct as possible on the court or field. On the other hand, you have fans who get to watch the back of a ref and players who are taken out of the flow of their game by coaching timeouts, TV timeouts, and instant replays.
What do you think is more important: game flow or getting things "right"?
