Leader of the New School, HD in College, and Lira Lifts

Last Friday Warren Woods Tower held a ceremony for some of their kids who are playing sports in college next year and it featured Summer 2020 Rookie/Monkey Exhibit Head Mama Chimp Hannah Dutz.

HD is slated to be a thrower at Lake Superior State next year, where she will not only be throwing shot put and discus, but also be introduced to the hammer throw. Keep up the good work kiddo, we are proud of you!

We also have news from two former Champions Club peeps... "former" being lack of a better term, as I still see them as being part of our family, even though they don't train at the gym right now.

It turns out the MHSPLA made a few changes to their rules this year, reportedly influenced by the Champions Club's invasion last year. In addition to enforcing a strict age minimum, they also required all athletes to lift for their schools, not allowing for outside clubs.

Since last year Summer 2019 Rookie Lira Bordoley has really taken a liking to powerlifting and has dedicated her training to that year-round. She competed for Seaholm in this year's State meet - I think she was the only lifter from Seaholm - and ended up taking 1st place overall and set a state record for her weight class in the back squat at 265 lbs. I can assure you that her effort earned her at least one girl scout patch, maybe even two.

For real though, great work LB!

Finally longtime Mott head boys track coach and Summer 2019 member Coach Dias stepped down from his post and accepted the head football coaching job at Warren Woods Tower. Coach Dias was the one who initially brought me and Shannon on to the staff there and allowed us free reigns to coach through the Pose method. I really appreciate the trust he had in me and the patience to see it evolve from pretty crappy early on to back-to-back league titles by the end.

As luck would have it, Coach Dias's spot is being filled by none other than Champions Club OG, Handsome Gentleman fan-favorite, Nickleback-loving, and Olympic Trials stud Matt Fecht!

Matt is also a Mott alum and has a deep sense of pride to see his old school do well. I think this is about as good of a hire as possible in this scenario. Lots of good things to come for both Matt and Warren Mott track, that's for sure.
