If you have been longing to make a change in yourself like working out, nutrition, or your job, where do you begin? Motivation is what everyone needs to move forward in their lives to make a change. We have two types of motivation: intrinsic or extrinsic. Learning the difference between the two can be life-changing.
The first is intrinsic motivation, meaning it comes from within yourself. It’s being self-motivated and includes things we find as fun, challenging and even cool; not a chore to do. You want to learn, explore and see your potentials.
The second is extrinsic motivation and that is outside yourself, usually being physically rewarded. It could be someone recognizing you or praise, being cheered on by your fellow CrossFitters during a workout, receiving trophies, plaques or seeing your name on the beloved signs that hang high above our heads at The Champions Club.
Both are good and rewarding if balanced out. Accept praise when given but also allow yourself to be pushed and challenged to go even farther. We all have great potential inside and out to be the best don’t miss the opportunity.
Mrs. Pip’s nutrition tip: Try 1 new food a week in one of your macronutrients (Carbs, fats or proteins). A good example would be avocado on toast instead of butter (both are in the fat macronutrient category)
