It's late as hell and I sat on this thing for about 45 minutes debating whether or not to do this post. In a world where a big part of coaching is finding dope athletes to attach yourself to, I really want to work hard to not have that reputation. But this came down to me thinking I would want to know if one of you had this experience.
When I was really young I'd watch every second of the NBA Draft because I was a nerd like that. But after like 7th grade I'd turn it off after the first round was done. Since then I've only watched the second round twice: in 2012 waiting for Draymond Green to get picked and tonight (this morning, technically) waiting for Ryan Rollins to get picked.
This, however, was my first time ever experiencing it from more than a fan's perspective; I was part of a group that watched the draft with Ryan and his family at some random hall in Oak Park.

About 25 seconds after this pic was taken, Ryan's phone buzzed and everyone went in the main room just in time to see his name pop up on the screen as the 44th pick by the Atlanta Hawks.
Then his agent quieted everyone down and made the official announcement:
Agent: "Sorry for the wait, but as you see the Atlanta Hawks took Ryan with the 44th pick...
Crowd: "Yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhh"
Agent: "....AND...AAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDD..."
Crowd: "huh?"
Agent: "Traded that pick...
Crowd:
Agent: "... to the Golden State Warriors"
Crowd:
I have no idea how to write a conclusion to this so... yeah man. We'll just do it like we do in the huddle.
On a mission on 3!
