Big News from Grand Valley

Long story short, Champions Club veteran Jay Junkin is now a member of Grand Valley's basketball team.
Jay, a junior, has gone to open try-outs every year since he was a freshman, but they never kept anyone. And at first, that's how this year was looking to shape up.
Two weeks ago, Jay was walking out of class when the team manager came up to him and told him to report to the basketball office as soon as possible. Upon arrival, the coaches let him know that they had a roster spot open for him and wanted him as a walk-on. After going through the lengthy paperwork process, Jay had his official first day of practice today.
We'll be sure to follow their schedule this winter and see if we can make it to a game if he plays around here.
Big ups Jay! I'm super proud of my neighbor!
