Race Opportunity

Much to the Kavanaughs' surprise, there are some folk out there who actually enjoy running - as in, they will pay money to do it.

Crystal Reed (obscure internet article reader/Mom's Club OG/co-captain of the gossip team along with Mama V) is one of those people. All the way back in October (Emma Weather) she ran the Free Press Marathon in 4:24. As far as I know, she has a few races in the distant future she has her sights set on. But in the meantime, she stumbled across a smaller race that she would like to get a group for.

"Back to the Beach" Half Marathon/10k/5k will be held in Stony Creek on Sunday, May 18th. The proceeds will be going towards local causes and charities. Crystal has already signed up for the Half, but is encouraging anyone to sign up for any of the three races.

If anyone is interested, I will have the sign-up sheets posted in the gym somewhere. Last run organized by Crystal was the Running Wild at the Zoo 5k with the Mom's Club on September 18, 2011. Check the retro photo gallery here.

Jacqueline I know you hate running and so do I, but this could be fun! We could go to the beach after to cool down.

Count me in Crystal. I'm good for the 5k, and I'm always there for moral support on your half marathon run! I'll be waiting at the finish line...
