I woke up this morning to a email from Lauren talking about her recent basketball game. I asked her if I could share it and she said no problem. So here it is.

Hey Chris!

Too long of a message for a text so I decided to go old fashioned with an email. So a few days ago on Saturday we played our breast cancer game against Olivet. I sit on the bench from what feels like a wrestling match on the court, face red, heart pounding, and I can't help but think about you guys. This Olivet girl was 6'4" and almost 300 lbs and little (never thought I'd use this word for myself but in this situation it felt appropriate) 5'9" me seemed like I didn't stand a chance. Coach put me on her and I put my best foot forward and took body size as no excuse. I managed to do pretty well on her and ended up with 10 rebounds that night and I just sat down during a time out and realized that without you guys working with me all summer and not giving up on me I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am today. It was without a doubt my strength and speed that helped me out-match her against all odds and I wanted to thank you for that, I wouldn't have even been a contender if I didn't have you guys coaching me all summer and improving my strength and conditioning every day.

What I gained from CrossFit is something so unique and such an advantage as an athlete, and I never really realized how much it has helped me until I stepped out from our box and into the realm of college sports. I realized that not all these athletes were as lucky as I am to have such awesome coaches like you and Murles  and Emma always pushing my limits and making me better. Again, just wanted to thank you and share my appreciation :) I can't wait to get back at it! I miss you guys like crazy and hope everything is going well at the Champions Club! See you guys soon :)
