New Graduates: Cousino Kids

The Warren Cousino trio Avery, Hadley, and Eric finished up their last session of Fundamentals last night on a date with Helen modified using 12k kettlebells, ring rows, and a 200m run.

Over the course of our sessions, the thing I noticed the most about these three is their form tends to get better as a workout goes on. We will go through some technique work with things looking iffy, then I'll start the workout and see the same form. But as the workout progresses and the reps get completed all three of them steadily get better until the time is up. It's good to see because it usually means they learn by feel.

Avery is the youngest of the crew and it shows a little in her strength; push-ups are going to take awhile. But her running on Day 7 was on point and so was her squats. I'd be lucky if I can keep Eric's attention for more than fifteen seconds but when it's there, he does well. He's got that wirey frame that has a lot of potential stored in it. Hadley is the oldest of the group and it shows. She displayed really good form and a solid understanding for everything we are doing. If they are consistent, they'll be great additions to our new generation of kids, and the gym in general.

Ghosts of Champions Club past:

Hadley = Lauren Higgins as an endurance athlete

Eric = Carter if he hadn't been doing CrossFit for the last three years.

Avery = Katie Bromm when she was shy

It was awesome having you guys come in for the Saturday morning mobility/workout, Hadley and Eric. Ya'll were great, especially for it being your first non-fundamentals day - killing two sets of 50 ring rows is no small feat.
