Dang Mrs. Colleen! This is the first time a rookie got top attendance since... well, 2022 with Mr. Ron... 2021 with Loretta... 2020 with Jaylee... 2017 with Andre... 2011 with Nick Prys... man get 'em during the honeymoon phase, I guess. But, yeah, Dang Mrs. Colleen!
I'd like to also note that some of the numbers/percentages in the 100s might not be completely accurate: hard to tell about some of the Babies and I asked a few families to wait until September. We're probably right around 120 people total. Here's where that looks like with previous years. (I added '16 and '17 in, gotta own up to those at some point):

...........
This is the weirdest thing: with all of the emphasis this Summer on competing and not comparing, I have found myself here in September not even the slightest bit interested in the attendance, total participants, or any of the other fancy stats I used to nerd out on.
The idea to post past Summers attendance up in the gym came from Jessica, although she has no idea; I was standing on the sidelines watching one of her high school soccer games when a parent said something to the extent of, "What can I do to get my daughter to look like that," pointing at Jess's legs and arms. My reply: "Check Summer attendance."
Do any of you think Jessica looks the way she does due to pure genetics mixed with Langston attendance? Here's Jessica's attendance the last 5 Summers:
This comes out to almost exactly 6 days a week on average. For 5 straight Summers. And each of the last few Summers saw her miss a week at a time for soccer camp back at Findlay; think of how many 7-day weeks she strung together to get that percentage back up! God forbid there is a vacation to Ireland or a weekend up north somewhere in there.
One of the things I find interesting is how people perceive their attendance vs. what it actually is: this is where I find the most value in keeping the numbers. Over the course of the 15 Summers doing this, I can say with confidence that there is a very predictable correlation between attendance and improvements made.
No shit Chris.
Dean! You swear?
Only at you.
Well... okay then. But, I mean, I would think it's obvious too, but yet I am still often confronted with surprise when lack of attendance meets lack of progress.
Is there a certain tipping point?
That's difficult to say in general, and there's certainly data points supporting the other argument: I remember in Summer 2021 I was annoyed with the dads for having good attendance and not making the progress I would expect. Also, there are people like Conamora who can show up for the first time in 6 months and set a deadlift record. Koltin, Alyssa Jabara, Lauren Higgins, JZ, and Michael Banet were a few of the others in that line.
Stop rambling and answer the question son!
Gun to my head, 4 days a week seems to make a big difference over 3 days. Another jump happens at 6.
So how do you read this year's attendance?
There are a few reasons why it's not fair to compare this Summer to previous ones:
So I read this, like I need to, as a stand-alone. This is where we're at for Summer 2024. Oddly enough, without a single instance of comparison this Summer (hard for me at first, easy after a few weeks) we bookended our Summer with two records: June 10 set a opening day Summer attendance record with 68, and the Harry Potter workout set a single-session Theme Workout attendance record with 47.
Where are all the high school kids you claim to have?
Their time will come. Not fair to compare to a time when everything else was shut down.
Well then can you think of any time it's appropriate to compare attendance?
Absolutely! Let's look at the Draft results!
Jessica's thoughts: I never liked Tea' in the first place. She pulled my jersey and stepped on my cleats during her senior year. I hope her zipper gets stuck in her jacket tomorrow.
Jessica's thoughts: I never liked Mr. Kuiper in the first place. He comes across as someone who plugs his nose when he jumps in the pool. I sat out most of August trying to renegotiate my contract, but the butthead still wouldn't trade me.
Jessica's thoughts: I never liked Bethany in the first place. Something about people with glasses just pisses me off. And, seriously, find somewhere private to change clothes; the gym floor is not a changing closet.
Jessica's thoughts: I never liked Mr. Ron in the first place. But I do like yogurt. Every morning I have tea and crumpets with a small cup of plain yogurt while I sit in my recliner chair with the newspaper. Really puts me in a good mood to start the day.
What kind of edibles are you on Chris?
I just found out what edibles are, actually Dean. Matt showed me a picture of some he confiscated at school.
Well, aren't you going to say anything about the obvious?
What's the obvious?
Wasn't the dude that won the Draft also the same dude who kept attendance for you?
Yes, he also made a week-by-week graph to go along with it:
Where do you find these people?
No idea. They find me.
