On Monday two of your young Lamphere baseball kids had good showings on their max effort deadlifts.
First up is New Kid Jaxson Riddle. Back in the Fieldhouse days we had a phrase "Coordinated but not athletic" for kids who could move well in the weight room but not so much on the field or court. Jaxson came in as the opposite: athletic but not coordinated. He can run, jump, throw, hit, field, catch, and shoot a basketball, but he had the darndest time trying to make his back stay flat while doing deadlifts. He mades some really big strides in that department on Monday, topping out his 10 RM at 100 lbs.
Next up is Koltin Krstich, who has really had himself a great week and some change of workouts, starting with a date with Pukie in the Filthy Fifty and lasting all the way through Tuesday's squat/handstand For Quality thing. But on the deadlifts Monday he put a lot of emphasis on his feet holding still and his midline staying rigid. Here's his set at 155 lbs.
Keep up the good work you two!
