Athlete of the Week: A Group Decision
Chris Sinagoga | Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 6:54PM It is late in the Summer and quite frankly, I am more susceptible to bargains, negotiating, and guilt-tripping. Lindsey has been campaigning for about three weeks for an Athlete of the Week nod, and Ricky decided he wanted to win it this week (being that it's his last full week before he heads off to school) and threatened not to come back next Summer if Lindsey got it.
So what did each of them bring to the table this week? Ricky's mom brought in brownies and sour gummy worms. Lindsey counted for attendance. And in a final chance to showcase their dominance over the other, both failed to impress at the group football game today for the team workout. If anything, I should be Athlete of the Week: good score on that horrible Tuesday workout, good time on Fran, and laser-point passes at the park today. But as I mentioned, it's the middle of August and both have worn on me to the point of white-towel waiving. So in the name of good business practices, let's see if we can get a cataclysmic split of membership at the gym.

Or base it off sheer spite and ill-will. I could not care less. Anything to wash my hands of this weirdness.

I gotta go with Lindsey for three reasons:
1. She was busting her ass in the sessions I was in with her. Her numbers were pretty strong all week too.
2. She is very encouraging of everyone else...even the old people. It's always fun working out when she is there.
3. Ricky was great when I saw him this week, but he might not have even been the top Carey this week in my book. Mr Carey battled hard through a knee injury, including banging out those pull ups with no band on Thursday. Plus, you can't give Ricky points for his mom bring in treats...those should go to Mrs Carey. This is my parent bias kicking in.
4. I look forward to Chris being forced to say nice things about her.

Wow, it's a tie so far! I literally just flipped a coin. Heads was Ricky, tails was Lindsey...It was heads...
TLDR: I vote Ricky.
A telemarketer spammed my phone saying I had to vote for Lindsey. Given that this may be her only chance, I’ll vote for Lindsey. She also gets me into the dog park for free! :D
