New Kids on the Block: The Curtis Sisters

Our last two New Kids of late-October/early-November are sisters Sam and Sarah Curtis. They came to us through Cecilia's mom a few weeks ago and their first workout was on November 5 as part fo the tabata and run intervals. Both sisters have now made it through tryouts and are officially part of our crew!

Sam is an 8th grader and plays on the same soccer team with Makenna and Reese, coached by Mrs. Teri.

The general scoop on Sam is she's a former goalie who worked like crazy to get her conditioning up enough to play in the field. So far we've spent a lot of time working on keeping her bodyweight on the balls of her feet - both in running and squatting. We've seen a lot of improvement in both so far.

Sam's sister, Sarah, is a freshman at L'Anse Creuse North and her primary sport is volleyball.

Sarah plays for a teavel team and got called up to LCN's varsity at the end of the year for playoffs. Her main thing is the knee wobbles that need to be fixed, so we've been emphasizing that every chance we get, whether it's doing cleans or jumping up to the pull-up bar. Sarah is a little more lengthy than her sister and it seems like she's still trying to get a feel for where her body is in space.

Both sisters are making a great effort to make it into the gym consistenly and they have already meshed in well with the rest of the Monkey Exhibit. I'm really excited to have them as part of our team. Welcome to the Champions Club kids!
