Coach's Corner: Push-ups and Pull-ups at the Babies Session

One of the advantages of having the maturity of a 7 year-old is what I "coach" 7 year-olds I have a pretty good idea of what they would find fun and not fun.

Pull-ups: not fun.

Push-ups: really not fun.

Trying to push your coach over: really fun.

Taking someone's lunch money: the best!

The other part about push-ups and pull-ups is once you have them, you never really need all of your strength to do one, or two, or however many; instead you just give a percentage of an effort until your muscles give out or you notice I'm not looking.

But when someone is hanging on to a soccer ball for dear life, and you desire nothing more than to take said soccer ball, the body will find strength in a way that doesn't seem as likely when hanging from a pull-up bar with me spotting you. The habit of aggression, in my opinion, is best learned informally.

Also, 14(!) at the Babies session. We're getting there.
