Champions Club Meeting: December 22 @ 7 pm

Last time I can remember holding an official Champions Club meeting was under much more dire circumstances: we were on the verge of getting kicked out of Foley and I needed to know who was on board with me. It turned out everyone was and now here we are six years later thanks to Mrs. Pip!

This is the moment I found out the Champions Club was probably going to be what I was doing for the rest of my life and not wondering around foreign countries playing basketball for 10 bucks a game.

Well, it is time for another Champions Club meeting and thankfully the mood will not be much lighter. There are two things I need to go over (one briefly and one a little longer but not too bad), then one big favor I need to ask anyone who can assist. Here's the layout:

Money. I have already talked to a lot of you about this in sidebars and such, but starting next September we are going to adjust how we are doing membership commitments. I'll explain more at the meeting but if you have been paying consistently and on time then this will affect you in no way whatsoever.

Christmas Workout. As I mentioned in the Dinner Table Rule, I am going to work on bringing in our younger crew into the traditional Christmas Eve workout so they can see the rest of our community. I'll just need to get an idea of who is going to be there and talk about the format we're going to try to roll with.

A favor from you if you can. Lastly, we will be joined at the meeting by a special guest: Coach T! I just now realized that I need to do an editorial on him in the same way I did on Jarrod so I can link for people who don't know him. In short, he's the P.E. and S&C coach at Mott and is responsible for Matt Fecht, Kris Campbell, the Takeover/EDU Network we have going on, and our entire 11 am crew over the Summer. He's a good dude.

Another thing he is responsible for is getting him and myself a guest-speaking spot at the Michigan State Strength and Conditioning Clinic on February 11. We will be giving an hour-long presentation to over a hundred high school and college strength and conditioning coaches from across the country (last year, Tennessee, Northwestern, and a New York Jets guy were headlining the attendance). We have been prepping since July and are meeting soon to finalize some things. What we need now is a test-run and this is where you come in.

If you guys can spare a half-hour or so, we would really appreciate a decent-size group to practice the intro portion we'll be using in the clinic.

Again, this will take place immediately after the 6 pm session next Thursday and should not last more than an hour. If anyone was planning on working out at 7, either try to make it to the 6 or I'll stay after and you can hit it when the meeting is done.

Thanks and please make it a priority to be there.
