I'm beginning to realize that no matter how much I try to steer this living, breathing, socializing ship in the direction I want, there are just some parts of the ocean current that are unavoidable: Elizabeth wins a team workout, Mr. Gjon conducts a one-hour run-on sentence, the babies run wild, photos come out blurry, Ricky grabs an 8k kettlebell, and the walls get packed with 54 people on Thanksgiving morning. On these days I have to concede that this thing we have here is about as strong of a force as anything in our lives right now, bigger than any one single person and at the same time as important as any one single person; 53 people waited awkwardly under the rings to take the group picture as David Sap signed his National Letter of Intent on the whiteboard completely oblivious to a crowd that, even though a lot of them didn't know who he was, had some feeling that a picture would not be complete without him.

We'll have to make some future adjustments to this workout format, as well as out Christmas one in a month to account for the unavoidable current, but we'll figure that out as we go. Somehow we still managed to end right at the 1-hour mark; something that can't be said for most regular weekday sessions with 1/5 of the people.

What a great crew, though! Alyssa Jabara might have been the star of the day, as she picked up a win with Elizabeth, and also got to show off her new engagement ring. In addition to the names above, Murley, Mrs. Bennis, Amy, and Erika all made guest appearances. After about two minuites into the workout things ran pretty smooth.
