Workout of the Day - Friday, June 28

Jacob took the opportunity to practice his L-sits with both his hips and feet off the ground for as long as possible. I thought the sessions did a great job across the board of getting something out of this workout. It could have been a really easy one to sandbag.

Workout of the Day - Monday, June 3

Warmup

On a continuously running clock, 3 minutes of each for max reps of:

Burpees
Inverted burpees
Double-unders
Parking lot run (garage door to garage door)
Squat
30-in. box jumps

We didn't keep track of height on box jumps today, but we had some people going with a 1-2 step to help them, especially coming after 3 minutes of squats. You can see Jacob doing the approach here.

4 rounds for time of:

21 floor press

15 pull-ups

Run 400 meters

Jacob, as it turns out, is really good at pushing straight ahead with his arms. So instead of just upping the weight, we went for speed; each set of 21 had to be done in 15 seconds or else the set didn't count. He hit each one right on the head without a milisecond to spare.

Despite his best efforts, Jacob hits the Pose position with every step he takes. The goal is to hit that figure-4 shape in a vertical line.

Jacob was emphasizing a stable shoulder position on his overhead lunges today and was able to keep consistent form through the entire workout.
